Eamonn Byrne Memorial Cup 2018

30yrs ago this year we in Na Cealla Beaga Gaa club sadly lost a great man in Eamonn Byrne who tragically and suddenly died whilst playing in a senior league match against Aodh Ruadh in Ballyshannon. In a fitting gesture to their colleague, the then members of the Killybegs Fire Brigade donated a cup in his honour to the Byrne family and to CLG Na Cealla Beaga to be played for in his memory, Seen here is Colm Cunningham (Killybegs Fire Station Officer) presenting the Eamonn Byrne Memorial Cup to Patsy McGowan (Club Chairman in 1988).This Saturday October 20th 2018 the club will mark the 30th anniversary of the late Eamonn's passing by playing our neighbours Chill Chartha in a senior match to commemorate this milestone, throw in is set for 3pm.
